by 11 Comments

free-2Btutorial-2B-2Bsew-2Bin-2Belastic-2Bthread

Today I want to share a quick tutorial on how to add elastic to a top or dress to define the waist. My Puff Ruffle Peasant Pattern shows a gathered mid chest area:
Puff ruffle peasant dress pattern for girls. Comes with top length and other options | Whimsy Couture

The following 2 pictures are made with my Ruffled Neckline Dress pattern and both have a defined waist with several rows of elastic thread sewn in.

Isn’t my model so cute??:) …..pictures taken by a business friend.

Very cute! I love being able to quickly add some elastic at the waist and add some definition to the garment.

And Tayley is adorable! I love her!

I heart elastic thread! It took me forever to figure out how to use it correctly but it adds so much character to a dress.

Very cute – and I love full and partial elastic waist jeans, pants, AND skirts for all ages from my grandkids on up to my elderly senior parents. Thanks for a fun idea for Rednesday.
