Girls Ruffle Dress Pattern – The Celebration Dress

Sew this pretty girls dress pattern for sizes newborn through 12 years!

No matter if she is going to a real fiesta or a summer event or a birthday party, she will be dressed matching her fun, life loving style! Inspired by Spanish festivals, this dress is anything but short of style and fun. Full coverage along the neckline and shoulders is guaranteed. The length of the dress hits anywhere above the knee, depending on the girl’s height. You can also make the dress longer (see separate chart) so that the dress hits anywhere below the knee.

NOTE: dress might reach almost maxi length on shorter girls! The shoulder overlay ruffle is wide and features a cute trim.

Suitable fabrics: wovens, ginghams, chambray, linens, gauze, broadcloth, or any other lightweight/non stretch fabric is great.

The pom pom trim is part of this design but you can substitute if for wider rickrack or other trim. You can use up to 3 different color/print combos. Yardage is given for each of the components such as neckline ruffle, dress and waist band casing.

The waist has a contrasting casing for elastic.

Skill level: basic to intermediate

NOTE: test if the colors will bleed, prewash a small piece of the dress fabric along with a small piece of the trim and add some detergent. Let sit for about 30 minutes.
